I look after the non qualified desk at Thornton Legal, with a focus on Merseyside, Cheshire, Greater Manchester and Lancashire. My clients range from those on the high street through to large national and international commercial firms, and I support graduates, paralegals, legal assistants and support staff in their job searches.
A little bit about me...
How did you get into legal recruitment?
I worked in the legal profession for 8 years starting as a legal assistant after completing my legal practice course. I qualified as a Solicitor in 2012 and after a couple of years working as a Solicitor, I started looking at other career options. My interest in legal recruitment was first sparked after I used a legal recruiter myself during my job search, so I decided to look at getting into this area myself.
What do you do at Thornton Legal?
My desk is non qualified appointments across the North West. I like to think I’m the calm head at Thornton Legal which is needed in the crazy world of recruitment!
What do you do to relax?
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I have 3 boys aged 5, 6 and 11 so I am kept super busy with them. I enjoy most sports (watching that is!). I spend a lot of time as a football mum and most Saturdays I will be found at Prenton Park watching Tranmere Rovers.
I love eating out, going to concerts, the theatre and going on holiday. I try to get away in the sunshine as much as I can!
Is there a sport you wish you could play?
Football! I am a season ticket holder at Tranmere Rovers and have three boys who are football mad. It would be nice to be able to play rather than just spectate especially now that women’s football is much more high profile.
What is your favourite book?
My favourite book is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I first studied it at school. Unfortunately, I do not get much time to get my head into a good book these days but To Kill a Mockingbird was always one that I enjoyed.
What food couldn’t you live without?
That’s a hard one as I love my food! Probably my Friday night takeaway …. mainly because I don’t like to cook after a long week in the office!
What would people be surprised to know about you?
I like to sing and once auditioned for the X Factor (it was a long time ago!)
What is your favourite quote?
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do” - Mark Twain
